Halloween is truly one of my all-time favourite celebrations of the year. Not only because I love getting spooked, but the costume portion of it definitely has something to do with it. I have friends always asking me for ideas on what to do during Halloween week so to help you guys out, I compiled a list that touches on everything from the big parties to haunted ghost tours and freaky haunted houses. Get ready to thrillllller!
Montreal Zombie Walk
On the Saturday before Halloween, thousands will swarm the streets of Montreal flaunting their scariest zombie looks. Starting at Place des Festivals, make-up artists and entertainers alike will shuffle amongst the crowd as well as sightings of a zombie marching band and eery floats. The event will wrap up back at Place des Festivals with a surprise dance performance by choreographer Gary Fury and following shows by PUP, Chocolat and Duchess Says. Free for everyone, closed for those weary at the sight of blood…

L’éveil des Morts
On Halloween, La Trouble-Fête will stir from its slumber and rock the Place des Festivals with music, entertainment and activities and an electrifying energy that will bring the dead back from the grave. Friday night, skeletons, giant marionettes and visual artists will be infusing Place des Festivals with an amped-up, carnival-like energy. Donovan King ghost stories will be told to the courageous of us – are you brave enough to sit through his blood-curdling tales? Later, the Petits chanteurs du Mont-Royal will put on a bone-chilling spectacle and Yan Perreau will get the crowd moving and grooving to a one-of-a-kind electronic show. DJ Stéphane Cocke who will keep the dance floor packed until 11 pm.

Cirque De Boudoir presents: CRUCIFIXION Halloween
Cirque De Boudoir’s largest & most anticipated event of the year is nearly here. Happening in a stunning church venue (Théâtre Paradoxe), with over 1000 guests in attendance, this is Montreal, Quebec’s most kinky, freaky and sexy Halloween event. Featuring a bloody amazing line-up of Performers, DJs, Visual Artists, Gogo Dancers and much more.

Back for it’s third year, this interactive haunted house is not for the faint of heart. Once you enter, you will wander through horrifying scenes where your darkest fears will come up. Want to get even more spooked? The characters get really ups close and personal this time around. Be warned.

The Great Wizardry Fest
Calling all apprentice wizards in Montréal! For this special mission, the Place des Festivals will be transformed into a wizards’ village where a battalion of young wizards will receive their training through an array of activities, and be ready to face this terrible creature. Magic wand-making, a spooky carousel, face painting, an enchanted forest and more are on the program. Later, a great parade of wizards on floats will wind its way to the heart of the action to meet the mighty Trouble-Fête head on.

Imagine Dragons at the Bell Centre
The chart-topping American rock band from Las Vegas, will be performing at the Bell Centre promoting their newest release ‘Evolve’. Get ready for a truly rockin’ show with special guests GROUPLOVE and K.Flay.

Stranger Things Halloween Dance Party
Stranger Things reinvigorated our love for 80s horror movies, and to celebrate season 2 Théâtre Fairmount is throwing a Halloween party dedicated to the best era for the genre. They will be playing 80s music all night and are dressing to look the part. Come party as your favourite 80s villain (or hero or heroine) and dance the night away to the best 80s jams there is.

Incognito Masked Ball
On October 27th the Entrepôts Dominion will host the Incognito Ball celebrating the 7th edition benefiting the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation. The architectural design and industrial setting is the perfect place to bring together hundreds of young professionals from diverse fields and to party for a good cause. Once again all the funds raised will be used to improve pediatric medical care in Quebec and funding for the H.B. Williams Craniofacial and Cleft Surgery Unit of the Montreal Children’s Hospital.

Halloween at La Voute
Costumes are obligatory at La Voute’s four themed evenings this Halloween season. Inspired by Heidi Klum’s Halloween parties, there will be four themed evenings consisting of blood-feeder performances, religious mysteries, bank robberies and a final royally gruesome ball. This will be one ‘hell’ of an event!

360 Observation Deck Halloween Party
Take out your best attire, and get prepared for an evening filled with chic and mystery. Driven by the magical glowing lights of the city, an outstanding panoramic experience awaits you at night at the 360 Observation Deck, Place Ville Marie on the 46th floor. DJ and bar on site.

Ever heard something go bump in the night in a library? We’ll tell you all the spooky stories McGill doesn’t want you to know- learn who haunts the halls of your favorite study spots, and what egregious human rights violations the administration has tried for decades to keep out of the lime light.

During the Halloween festivities of the 375th anniversary of Montréal, the Montréal Ghosts’ Halloween Special is sure to put you in the mood for the Celebration of the Dead. Explore Old Montréal in a truly different way and meet the spirits and ghosts that haunt its streets! Witches, charlatans and former criminals await you in the dark corners of Old Montréal. Hear their memories filled with legends, grim stories, criminal intrigues, mysteries and secrets.

Rocky Horror Picture Show
The largest RHPS show in North America is back at the most beautiful vintage theatre in the heart of the Quartier des Spéctacles. See Tim Curry, Richard O’Brien, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick and Meat Loaf on the big screen while a large cast performs live on stage with wild audience participation. DramaQueen Halloween Yelloween
Animals, night owls, wild things, feathers, and more. This is always one of the biggest Halloween parties in the city. This years edition is in coordination with Yelloween, so all you ghouls and gals know a true turn up is in order at Auberge St-Gabriel!

Brunch des Sorciers
Join Les Intraitables for a very special edition of the Halloween Wizards’ Brunch, scheduled for October 28th and 29th. A great festive brunch known for its unique immersive atmosphere that will transport you to a magical world for a few hours amongst wizards and magical creatures – think Harry Potter.
